Entry Requirements for Smu Master Programs
The next cohort for St Marys masters available will begin in September of 2023. Applications will be open from September 1, 2022.
IMTE is specifically designed for international students. Canadian citizens aren’t allowed to participate in this program for graduate students. In general, a bachelor’s degree in the field of language studies (especially English) or education is required, along with relevant teaching experiences. However, a background in academics in different areas could be considered acceptable. It is the IMTE admissions committee evaluates every applicant on an individual basis to assess applicants’ qualifications.
Students interested in applying to this IMTE course from Saint Mary’s University must submit the following information:
- An Online application form along with the processing fee of $110 (non-refundable)
- Transcripts for all universities as well as colleges where students have been
- Please consult IMTE for specific country-specific GPA requirements
- A notarized transcription is necessary if the transcripts are written in a different language than English.
- Three recommendation forms.
- At the very least, one should come from an academic reference
- The letter of intent should explain the reason you’re interested in an education career in this field, including any prior teaching experience
- A CV/resume that is current
- The official evidence of English proficiency (applicants with a first language that is not English
- IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall, with no band lower than 6.0
- TOEFL iBT must be at least 80 and no band lower than 20
- Other tests of proficiency scores will be accepted
The deadline to submit online the required application fees for Saint Mary’s masters programs(SMU masters degree) is May 1, 2023. All documents required must be submitted to the University before May 31, 2023.
